About ERPsim
ERPsim games are an innovative “learning-by-doing” approach to teaching ERP concepts. Using a continuous-time simulation, students are put in a situation in which they have to run their business with a real-life ERP (mySAP ECC 6.0) system. Teams of four students are tasked with operating a company; be it a bottled water distributor, a make-to-stock cereal manufacturer, or a Dairy company depending on the version, and must interact with suppliers and customers by sending and receiving orders, delivering their products and completing the whole cash-to-cash cycle. ERPsim is a simulation program that was developed to automate:
- The sales process, so that every firm receives a large number of orders in each period of the simulation.
- Part of the production process, in order to account for production capacity.
- Part of the procurement process to account for delay in delivery and payment.
Using standard and customized reports in SAP, students must analyze their transactional data to make business decisions and ensure the profitability of their operations.
See how ERPsim is changing the way we teach and learn ERP concepts in this video from the the 2009-2010 academic version of ERPsim.
